Shanghai
Power Equipment Research Institute (SPERI), founded in 1959,
used to be No.1 Machinery Ministry Steam Turbine & Boiler
Research Institute. It is a grade I research institute for development
and application of national power equipment manufacturing. In
the past forty years, it has made great contributions towards
Chinese power equipment manufacturing by manufacturing 6MW to
600MW thermal power generating units and accumulated abundant
experience. It has updated equipment for scientific research
and testing as well as powerful technical force and relatively
high capacity of technical innovation. Integrated with scientific
research, technical development, supported products and general
contracting of engineering, SPERI is a new and high technology
enterprise of Shanghai.
SPERI
has a high-diathesis staff engaged in complete specialized
subjects, among which scientific and technical personnel represent
62.9%. SPERI undertakes experimental investigation and design
of thermal power generation equipment, nuclear electric power
generation equipment and related automatic system, experimental
investigation and design of new-type power generation equipment
to realize the technical innovation of power plant equipment.
The specialized fields concerned include aeromechanics, burning,
heat transfer, hydrodynamics, intensity and vibration, high
temperature material, welding technology, automatic control,
computer application and so on. Relying on the powerful technical
foundation, SPERI also provide clients with technical consulting
service, packaged engineering design, packaged equipment supply,
general engineering contracting, automatic control products
for hi-tech power plants, auxiliary machinery and electromechanical
products for power plants. SPERI has obtained outstanding
achievements in all preceding fields.

has the right to award master's degree in thermal power engineering
and thermal turbomachinery; It is the reliance unit QSIC and
Chinese Society of Power Engineering, a standing director
unit of China Electrical Equipment Industrial Association,
a secretary-general unit of China Steam Turbine Standardization
Technology Committee, chief unit of Chinese Power Equipment
Industrial Information Net and a member unit of Machinery
CAD Consulting Service Center Power Equipment Industry Branch.
SPERI has the right to import and export.

the authentication of ISO9000 in 1999.
